ROMEO & JULIET, TWELFTH NIGHT, & THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED) [REVISED] [AGAIN] - Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival

This audition application will ask for:

• Your basic contact information
• Information related to the shows/roles you'd like to audition for, your acting preferences, and related skills
• Your interest in WSF's other available performance-related positions
• An upload of your headshot and resume
• A link to an unlisted YouTube audition video, which should include a full body slate, followed by TWO contrasting classical verse monologues (under 90 seconds each), recorded in one continuous take.

Contract Details

Dates of contract: May 29-July 28, 2024

Roles: Our intent is to cast most actors across multiple shows (typically two). Actors with ensemble roles may be cross-cast to play additional ensemble roles in the same production.

Rehearsals: Six-day workweeks (off on Mondays) with up to three rehearsal periods per day. Actors in any two shows will routinely have workweeks under 40 hours per week. Those cast in Romeo & Juliet will only have evening and weekend rehearsals (with the exception of tech rehearsals on July 9-11), permitting for local actors with regular first shift workhours to also participate.

Performances: Performed in rotating repertory, beginning July 5 and closing July 28. Each Shakespeare title will have 7 performances; Complete Works will have 4.

Stipend: $2,200 for principal roles / $2,000 for supporting roles / $1,800 for ensemble roles (as defined). Performers in multiple shows will receive multiple stipends.

Housing: A room with a shared bathroom and kitchen with up to three other company members will be provided for those outside of a 30 mile radius from Eau Claire, WI

Artist Activity: All artists hired in conjunction with WSF are expected to strive for strong mentor/mentee partnerships. WSF aims to provide educational outreach programming, and all artists are welcome to participate as schedules and personal experience allow.
